The Sarek Collection
This line is made from earthenware clay and the main design theme is reductiveness. Accompanying the dishes is a set of table utensils made out of resin and cast in silicone molds, as well as three elevated wooden appetizer platters for the Swedish-styled appetizer, smörgåsbord.
the GOAL❓
Intent of the project
To create a dishwater line based on the history, culture, and cuisine of Sweden. Sweden has a rich history of cultivation and design in which I took inspiration from. The collection is named after the Sarek National
Park in Sweden that includes the expansive Sarektjåkkå mountain range.
the process❓
Working with ceramics
Starting with heavy research into Sweden and many iterations of sketches, I moved into prototyping the utensils and individual pieces to complete collection. I was able to work side-by-side with an experienced potter to help bring my vision of the Sarek Collection to life.
